Astanga Vinyasa Yoga in the tradition of Sri K. Pattabhi Jois.
Astanga literally means eight stages/limbs.
They are explained by yoga master Patanjali as Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Phratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana, and Samadhi, and all of them support each other.
As soon as the four external oriented limbs (Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama) are unfold, the other four (internal oriented) limbs will develop with time.
Vinyasa means: Synchronization of breathing and movement in devotion.
Breathing is the heart of Astanga Yoga practise and connects the Asanas in a certain arrangement. Breathing connects you with your being, the essential.
If Breathing is synchronized with Movement, an inner heat is generated. This method purifies muscles and organs from the inside by activating supporting hormones and minerals, which enable the body to accumulate and release its waste whenever necessary.
Hence, gentleness, strength, concentration, devotion and the sweating are elementary aspects of the traditional Astanga Vinyasa Yoga.
If you practise Yoga, it slowly and steadily leads you to the point to reexplore the potential of your consciousness; physical, psychological und mental. By studying Yoga you will achieve a new awareness of your senses and yourself. Slowly you'll wake up from the sleep of illusion.
"To be fully present and to be aware of your body's own intelligence while practicing, seduces ourselves to a continual, healing Yoga practise without dogma, restraint and esoteric affection"
